25 Feb The Mind Illuminated: A Meditation Course to Deepen your Practice
Ready to re-commit to your meditation practice? Curious and ready to jump in for the first time?
This six week course (beginning on February 6th) will provide a modern and non-dogmatic approach to meditation for anyone from the total beginner to the long time practitioner. Based on his popular book, The Mind Illuminated, each class will give students a progressive set of meditation instruction that balances precision and vigor with receptivity and easefulness.
During this Course You Will Learn:
♦ How to develop a consistent and enjoyable meditation practice
♦ What the stages of meditation are and how to make use of them for your own practice
♦ What the obstacles to meditation are and how to overcome them
♦ Which practices are most effective for your personal goals
This course meets for an hour and twenty minutes every week (February 6 – March 19) during which there will be instructions given, group practice and discussions. In order to make the most of this six weeks together it’s expected for you to commit to practice for at least 10 minutes a day for the duration of the course.

Matthew Immergut is a long time meditation practitioner, teacher and the co-author of The Mind Illuminated: A Complete Meditation Guide Integrating Buddhist Wisdom and Brain Science. He works as an Associate Professor of Sociology at Purchase College, SUNY with a focus on new religious movements and the role of meditation in the college classroom. He is also a Woodstock resident with his wife Liz and their dog Blue.
