All disease originates in the gut. ~ Hippocrates

And now, as science uncovers the secrets of the gut and the microbiome, we are finally coming to believe it.

The microbiome (for those that don’t know) is the inner living landscape of bacteria, fungi, and other tiny living things that exist inside your gut that aid in digestion, absorption, and regulation of the digestive process.

A proper balance of the ecosystem of the gastrointestinal tract involves both proper nourishment of positive and commensal bacteria strains, as well as eliminating unwanted inhabitants (such as parasites, bacterial overgrowth, and fungal infections). In this comprehensive gastrointestinal evaluation, we examine this balance as well as garnering insight into fat and protein absorption, digestive enzyme production, and overall gut acid/base balance.

For this evaluation, stool samples are collected by the patient and sent off to a lab. Our practitioners receive the results and create a treatment plan catered specifically to your needs including lifestyle, diet, and supplemental changes. Our practitioners are trained to identify when red flags are present that would necessitate a visit to your gastroenterologist.

Imbalances in the gut have been found to effect:

  • Autoimmune Conditions
  • Digestion and Elimination (GERD, IBS, IBD, Crohn’s, Colitis, general diarrhea and/or constipation, belching, flatulence, bloating, distension, etc)
  • Immune Function
  • Brain Function
  • Mood Stability
  • Heart Disease
  • Type II Diabetes
  • Skin Conditions such as rashes, psoriasis, eczema, acne and others
  • Weight Gain and Obesity
  • Asthma and Chronic Sinus Infections
  • Neuropathic Conditions
  • Headaches
  • Mysterious or non-responsive musculoskeletal dysfunction
  • Insomnia and sleep disturbances
